Thalea is interested in risk communication mechanisms to convey genetic and genomic information to an unprofessional audience. The aim of her Bachelor thesis will be to review and map the available mediums and methods of message delivery to lay people in the field of genetic testing for smoking behaviour susceptibly and compare these. For this purpose she has formulated the following research question: What is known about the factors on the comprehension of genetic and genomic information in an unprofessional audience? In ENGAGE, Thalea will be an intern at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health working with WP8 on task 8.2 which is concerned with the dissemination of research findings to the professional and unprofessional audience. Thalea is a Bachelor Student in European Public Health at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
