Marleen de Moor is interested in identifying genetic variants that influence individual differences in personality. She leads the ENGAGE-funded Personality Consortium in which 27 samples participate (>160,000 subjects with personality data, of which >60,000 with GWAS data). The first part of the project concerned the harmonization of personality item data across samples and instruments. Harmonized scores for Neuroticism and Extraversion were obtained in all samples, and subsequently analyzed as phenotypes in a genome-wide association study, followed by meta-analysis.

Marleen won the Best Poster Award Competition at the ENGAGE Conference in Rotterdam.
