ENGAGE Training and Mobility Grant Award:

Ann-Kristin Petersen, PhD Student, Institute of Epidemiology, Helmholtz Zentrum München, P.O. Box 11 29, 85758 Neuherberg, Germany

Ann-Kristin is interested in the genetic epidemiology of metabolomics. A special emphasis of her work is on the pathway analysis for SNPs that are known to be correlated with disease phenotypes. Ann-Kristin has awarded an ENGAGE grant for exchanges between the Institute of Epidemiology of the Helmholtz Zentrum München and the Department of Human Genetics at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute to develop an analysis platform for the joint analysis of genome-wide SNP data and intermediate phenotypes in particular metabolic and gene expression data. The project will contribute new, advanced statistical methods to the analysis of genetic and metabolomic data which can be used by other ENGAGE cohorts.
